The Center's five scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD) works to eliminate or minimize the impact of globally significant infectious diseases. Within VIDD is the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research & Prevention (SCHARP), which provides statistical support and data management to researchers worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS with active studies in the U.S., Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. The Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP) at Fred Hutch is seeking a Reports Analyst II who will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining reports for a wide range of stakeholders. Reports Analyst II will assist in the definition and technical documentation of the requirements and specifications of reports to be implemented by the clinical data management and analytics programming staff. This requires an individual that can leverage their experience and knowledge of business and data analysis, data mining and documentation best practices.

Responsibilities

* Create standard, study-specific, and ad hoc reports with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to author report requirements and develop specifications.
* Develop and maintain a library of data and reporting documentation including but not limited to, data dictionaries, report catalogs, report style guide, and user stories.
* Document requirements related to all data and reporting needs such as dashboards, scorecards, reports, ad hoc queries, and other data needs.
* Build actionable dashboards, data listings, scorecards for stakeholders by comprehending business requirements to derive actionable KPIs
* Research source data and design solutions that provide high-performance visuals and dashboards
* Contribute to identifying and developing standardized content to gain operational efficiencies.
* Use standard methodology to document requirements and specifications.
* Ensure no previously recorded report requests exists creating redundant effort.
* Engage with key stakeholders to obtain priorities and approval for reporting deliverables.
* Create user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria for reports. Validate reports against UAT criteria.
* Support the report change control process for evaluating and prioritizing defects and changes to reports.
* Communicate project status to team members and key stakeholders in timely and clear means.
* Generate, document, and maintain intermediary datasets

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in data science or computer science or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
* 3 years of experience as a business analyst or related experience (e.g. data analytics)
* 2+ years of experience with Business intelligence tools and techniques (Data Integration, Reporting, Data Mining, Data Visualizations, Dashboarding, ETL, Drill-downs)
* 1+ experience developing reports using an enterprise reporting tool such as Business Objects, Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services, Oracle Reports, Spotfire
* Working knowledge of relational database management system
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a matrix management environment as a member of several project teams
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in data science or computer science or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
* Experience working in a biomedical laboratory and/or experience with clinical trials and data management
* One year experience with SAS, Python, R or Perl on a PC/Unix platform.
* Working knowledge of Medidata Rave EDC (or equivalent experience with other EDC system)
* Knowledge of good clinical data management practices in health research
* Knowledge of and experience in programming for scientific research
* Knowledge of an Issue tracking tool such as JIRA
* Experience in good clinical data management practices in health research
* Experience working through the entire SDLC
