Business Analyst (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, Massachusetts): The Business Analyst will lead the planning, analysis, and implementation of Credit Risk systems at State Street. The Business Analyst will liaise with project sponsors, developers, testers and other stakeholders both on the business and technical teams to manage the intake of business requirements and to facilitate solution implementation. The Business Analyst will work under minimal direction while keeping senior management apprised of issues and project status. Specific duties of the position include: Liaising with the business teams to identify business problems that require technology solutions, specifically in the areas of Credit-Risk Exposure and Limits management and monitoring; Gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications, and playing back functional solutions to the business to ensure they adequately fulfill business requirements and expectations; Converting functional specifications into technical solutions that will be implemented using both legacy technologies such as Relational Databases and new technologies such as Cloudera and Hadoop; Providing the needed Business, Functional, Technical, and Data Analysis to "re-platform" existing Credit Exposure, Counterparty, Ratings, and Limit Aggregation systems a new "Big Data" technical platform; Working with development teams to troubleshoot and fix implementation issues due to business requirement gaps; Guiding the testing teams (Quality Assurance and User Acceptance) through the test-case creation and test execution process; Facilitating project scope, requirements gathering, and implementation planning with project sponsors and key stakeholders; Leading requirement elaboration and actively participating in solution design; Coordinating project planning and execution with cross-functional project managers, external consultants, application managers, business managers, development, and QA staff; Managing within a matrix environment with resources and services provided by centralized teams; and clearly communicating verbally and in written form, the status of the project to both senior business and senior technical management.
Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field; 6 years of experience of hands on systems analysis, IT project management experience in Finance Information Technology environment.
Must have: Total experience must include 5 years of data analysis experience related to internal Credit Risk data such as Counterparty, Limits & Exposures and Probability of Default systems; Proven ability to effectively manage time and balance priorities; Demonstrated knowledge of both waterfall and Agile SDLCs; Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis and experience related to external (Market Data) financial data sourcing and data transformation; Demonstrable experience using Data Analysis tools such as MS-Excel, MS-Access, SQL, and TOAD; Demonstrated experience working in Industrial Agile Kanban teams as a Subject Matter Expert Analyst; Demonstrable competence in stage-managing the migration of a financial system that is in production from a traditional/legacy technology platform to a new BigData platform.
