Title: Business Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL
Engagement: Contract, 6 months
Will gather requirements and perform mappings for an implementation a large EDI project focused on customer facing documents. Currently this drives 60% of the customer transactions and this position will help grow EDI customer transactions to over 80%. This individual will work with an IT team and work closely with the corresponding business partners.
Responsibilities:
Job Knowledge/Business Focus
* Strong knowledge of the EDI space in particular customer facing documents
* Experienced with X12 and XML documents
* Has effectively worked with EDI VANs and has a strong understanding of the nuances of customer to VAN interactions
* Experience with Oracle CRM solutions
* Collects and develops EDI business requirements
* Performs mappings of documents and develops cross references
* Assists in the creation and/or execution of test plans for new or changed applications
* Contributes to prototype development of user application interfaces
* Participates in workflow analysis in support of requirements definitions
* Communicates to business constituents in easily understood terms
* Identifies project specific risks throughout the development lifecycle
* Understands the basic tenets of information risk security
* Understands data models
* Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate roles, project goals, and timelines
* Assists in the collection and consolidation of required information and data.
* Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback
* Adheres to project standards defined by project management
* Accurately employs our methodology and documentation tools
* Proactively carries out project support /administrative functions
* Establishes reasonable deadlines and personal work plans and manages time effectively
* Documents and analyzes required information and data

* Creates project plans with timelines, resolves problems, controls projects, and ensures deadlines and project budgets are met, when defined as project lead
* Coordinates IT/Business related activities during design, development and implementation including customer acceptance testing, customer training schedules, pilots and rollouts with development, technical, support, operation and business areas

Nature and Scope:
* Supervisory role is limited to assigning work and reviewing work of others, does not conduct performance reviews
* Works under limited supervision, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals
* Leads small to medium projects, participates in projects of all sizes
* Provides internal/external customer interface, and leads small projects
Required Skills:
* Experience in business analysis and providing business solutions
* A minimum of 3 years EDI experience
* Experience in Oracle Order Management and AR modules
* Basic knowledge of systems development cycles, methodologies, and work flow diagramming
* Knowledge of company's business and technical environments
* Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in leading projects
