Overview

Be part of an exciting team dedicated to keeping America safe at home and abroad. KeyW has an immediate need for a Big Data Software Engineer to support our customer's researching new and innovative ways to detect botnets, as well as methods to automatically discover and classify devices and infrastructure in botnet infected networks using large quantities of cyber security data.

The Big Data Software Engineer will work with a team of highly skilled and diverse set of Engineers and Data Scientists. The successful candidate must be outcome driven, self-motivated, possess critical thinking skills, and be passionate about making a meaningful impact on society and through the development of new capabilities. The desired candidate should also have a strong desire to experiment with new open source frameworks, languages and build tools.

Responsibilities

* Rapidly prototype end-to-end solutions in close collaboration with a data science team
* Implement and maintain large-scale analytics in a cloud environment
* Bring analytic prototypes to scale, using cutting edge cloud based technology
* Develop and integrate tools/libraries to automate the running of analytics

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree in a science or engineering field (e.g. computer science, etc.)
* 2 years of programming experience in Java or Scala
* Strong proficiency with query languages (SQL)
* Previous experience developing in a cloud stack (Hadoop, CDH, HDP, MapR) and using components such as Spark, Hive, Impala, MapReduce, YARN
* Skills in data wrangling/munging
* Ability to rapidly learn new tools and packages

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in developing applications using Apache Spark, and other technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem
* Experience applying machine learning algorithms to large (TB/PB scale) data sets
* Experience with deep learning architectures and frameworks including Caffe, TensorFlow, Keras, etc
* Bachelor's with three (3) to four (4) years of experience or a Master's with zero (0) to two (2) years of experience

Clearance

Clearance: Position requires a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
