Job Description

Do you want to design and build tools that solve Amazon-scale, world-class analytical problems? Are you passionate about Big Data, machine learning, and/or econometrics?

The Economic Trends and Insights (YETI) team is building and scaling an Automated Insights tool to spread data science across the Finance organization and turn Big Data into big business insights. Products include unsupervised and supervised anomaly detection, dynamic growth decomposition, automated attribution models, extreme weather impact models, and user tools to unlock the power of data for both technical and non-technical users within Finance.

As the lead Big Data Engineer for the Automated Insights team, you will own and build the big data infrastructure that serves as the driver of our analytics engine. You will partner closely with Software Developers, Senior Data Scientists, and Economists to understand the data needs of our users and convert them into a data architecture that will scale over time. You may have experience using AWS technology to make long-term architecture decisions. You are highly curious and passionate about data, machine learning, and/or machine learning. You are customer obsessed and work to find solutions to ambiguous problems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, implement, and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information to meet stakeholder needs.
* Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and system design.
* Partner closely with Software Developers to design highly available and scalable data platform solutions to enable storage, processing and analysis of large scale structured and unstructured data.
* Investigate and implement new big data technologies to solve technical problems supporting business use cases where appropriate.
* Collaborate with scientists and economists to develop complex queries for ad hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
