Job Description

Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes that will run the global network of fulfillment, ground, and air centers that move many millions of units of inventory, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, mobility, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.

We are looking for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineer to optimize complex process flows leveraging state-of-the-art robotics and other advanced automation systems on a massive scale. This position is a unique opportunity to be involved in a wide range of automation projects right from the start. You will interface with multiple internal Amazon R&D and design teams as well as the world's leading automation strategic partners who have the technology and resources to meet Amazon's growth needs on a global scale. You will work on projects that optimize performance, quality, and delivery of new automation systems, and leverage operational data to deliver results for an extensive advanced automation installed base. This is an excellent opportunity for an automation engineer looking to transition into a highly strategic, globally significant role.

Responsibilities:

* Develop advanced simulations and data analyses to optimize automation system configuration options to meet end-to-end system goals, integrating Amazon's internally developed robotics with externally supplied material handling systems.
* Validate simulation models using production data streams, site visits, and correspondence across engineering, robotics, software, and operations teams to ensure models have sufficient detail to enable accurate quantitative evaluation of performance
* Utilize simulation models to identify and justify performance improvement opportunities via control logic, hardware, and process flow changes
* Work closely with Tech Deployment teams to implement end-to-end solutions in the field
