Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is seeking an exceptional candidate for an Automation engineering position supporting semiconductor factory automation. This position will provide engineering support for Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and will be responsible for testing, installing, configuring and maintaining AMHS software systems.

SAS is focused on being the World's Best Foundry product supplier.

Role and Responsibilities

* Provide 24/7 system support (troubleshooting) for any software system issues
* Responsible for data analysis by using system/history logs to correct issues in a timely manner
* Communicates technical information (8D) to senior leadership inside and outside of department through presentations
* Leads projects related to improving AMHS Software control system
* Assists with preventative maintenance activities by providing awareness of system performance and reliability
* Proactively sustain, maintain, monitor and administrator Manufacturing control systems and servers
* Analyze AMHS delivery issues and provide deliverable Key Performance Index (KPI) reports
* Manage / Review all system change points and failures & issues
* Test, install, configure and maintain AMHS software systems
* Work closely with counterpart in Global Headquarters for standardization
* Create standard recovery procedures and troubleshooting documentation
* General data analysis (Big Data)
* Shift: 1st - Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

* MUST have BS Degree in Engineering or computer science
* MUST have 2+ years of experience with Oracle SQL database
* MUST have knowledge of ETL database function
* 1+ year of experience with Linux/Unix systems
* 3+ year of experience with back-end Database systems.
* Intermediate to advanced SQL and statistical analysis skills required.
* 2+ years application programming experience (C#, .NET, JAVA)
* Ability to troubleshoot complex systems in a fast paced manufacturing environment
* General understanding of network systems
* Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
* Strong communication skills with internal and external project stakeholders
* Ability to communicate technical details both verbally and in writing
* Ability to work across cross cultural settings and globally distributed projects
* Experience with an AMHS Material Control System or automated factory control software application a plus
