Job Description

Our Plus1 Labs team (R&D) is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to write web and mobile apps across several brands and tech stacks.

What will I be doing?

You'll help build experimental dating and social products, including stand alone iOS and Android apps. You'll leverage open-source tech like Ruby on Rails, React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL, NodeJS, and established frameworks and languages like C# ASP.NET, Swift, and Kotlin.

What's the team like?

We are a small, nimble team that iterates fast and ships often. Plus1 Labs is our internal innovation and R&D team within Match Group (www.mtch.com). We recently built and released Ship (www.getshipped.com).

What do I need to land this role?

* 0 to 2 years of full-stack development experience
* Good background in object oriented development
* Familiarity with Test/Acceptance Driven Development practices (TDD)
* Ability to creatively solve problems and overcome unique challenges with little supervision
* BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering
* iOS/Rails development preferred

What technical skills do I need?

We work with so many technologies that it's impossible to be an expert in all of them. Here are a few that we'd love for you to have some experience with (you'll learn the others on the job):

* Swift, Objective-C, and the SDK framework
* Java or Kotlin. Bonus points for Reactive programming/RxJava
* React, Node.js
* Python, Flask
* Ruby on Rails
* PostgreSQL, SQL Server
* Familiarity with MVC/MVP concepts
* Public and/or private APIs (RESTful web services)
* HTML5, CSS, JavaScript in a mobile web universe
* Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, Web API)
