MITRE has a need for a full-time sensor systems engineer with an interest in systems modeling and analysis to work in the Sensor Systems & Battle Management, Command and Control (BMC2) department.

Key Functions:

You will work as part of a small team focused on the modeling, simulation, and analysis of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems. You will support the effort to assess current and future system capabilities, identify improved applications and techniques, and ultimately recommend solutions. Efforts addressed by the department include: describing algorithm and system performance as a function of sensor data quality (including signal and noise phenomenology), characterizing system performance in order to clarify capabilities, identifying and addressing areas for improvement in sensor data processing, and the investigation of multi-sensor approaches for data fusion and system of systems collaboration and exploitation.

Minimal Requirements:

B.S. and 1 year of related experience or M.S. in math, physics, engineering, or related disciplines.

Strong physics and mathematics background

Familiarity with modeling and analysis techniques

Proactive self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using analytical software tools such as MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and analysis of physical systems

Familiarity with numerical optimization techniques

Experience working with remote sensing systems (radar, electro-optic, infrared, acoustic, or multi-spectral)

Familiarity with tactical/theater or national intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems and supporting assets
