Associate Manager - Proposal Development

Proposal Manager will have the responsibility of development and coordinating the proposal process in response to requests for proposals or other documents describing organizational products and services from prospective customers or industry analysts. You will use your expertise to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop persuasive and winning proposal responses. The Associate Manager Proposal Developer is an independent, highly efficient, detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for managing all phases of the proposal process in response to requests for proposals (RFPs). The individual in this position must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and provide detailed follow-through. Duck Creek is a dynamic, fast-paced, and consistently changing work environment. The ability to handle multiple projects, learn quickly, while maintaining professionalism with the utmost of integrity is required. RFX (commonly known as RFI or RFP) = Request for Information or Request for Proposal.

Creation and management of work plan, estimated effort, management of assignments, coordinating with outside entities such as Delivery Partners, consolidation of proposal content; oversight of overall quality assurance procedures to meet specified proposal requirements; and timely delivery of work product. Meeting proposal deadline by setting priorities and target dates for obtaining information, reviews, approvals.

Responsibilities:

* Meets customer deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for content assembly, review, and approval; tracking progress of contributors; coordinating requirements with contributors; presenting proposal status at review meetings.
* Gathers proposal information by identifying required resources; coordinating submissions and collections; detecting and communicating possible risks associated with proposals.
* Develops proposal by combining responses including objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries.
* Preserves quality outcomes by using templates; following proposal-writing standards.
* Coordinates approvals by reviewing proposal with Opportunity Leads and Sales Directors.
* Updates job knowledge by utilizing training with in Duck Creek University.
* Performing quality assurance and quality control reviews of RFx (sales) proposals, performing grammar, formatting, and RFx style reviews; and performing final "fit and finish" activities.
* Capable of resolving issues arising and requiring coordination with other departments.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires strong attention to detail and the ability to make independent decisions that mitigate risk and ensure proposal quality. Working alongside subject matter experts; the ability to edit content according to recognized standards for grammar - including a single voice, completeness and sentence structure, and DCT brand to ensure consistency across all volumes/sections; work with responders to enhance future responses based on edits; harvesting work for re-use; ensuring RFx Repository base is current and accurate, and the ability to finalize a proposal package through "fit and finish" procedures in accordance with DCT RFx standards.

* BA or BS college degree and 4 years of provisional experience.
* Advanced skills in writing (e.g. technical writing), editing, and grammar.
* Experience in project management.
* Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats.
* Ability to work well remotely and lead virtual teams.
* Knowledge of insurance industry terminology.
* Background in roles requiring strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
* Customer service-oriented displaying the "right" attitude.
* Self-starter with an entrepreneurial sense of ownership to work product and projects.
* Demonstrated skills: ability to handle multiple projects, flexibility, and independent decision-making.
* Team player.
* Work well under pressure with short deadlines with little supervision.
* Communications skills to handle sensitive, confidential information.

Nice to have:

* 4+ years of professional experience in proposal development and or Marketing or related skills.
* 2+ years of project management experience.
* Working knowledge of Duck Creek solutions and DCU Boot Camp certifications a plus.
* 3+ years of experience with a P&C software vendor a plus.
* Background in roles requiring strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
* Customer service-oriented displaying the "right" attitude.
* Self-starter with an entrepreneurial sense of ownership to work product and projects.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools, as well as SalesForce and SharePoint.
* Demonstrated skills: ability to handle multiple projects, flexibility, and independent decision-making.
* Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience working with all levels in the organization, leading projects and problem resolution.
* Experience facilitating group meetings.
* Analytical and organizational skills including experience in meeting deadlines.
