Looking for database challenges with a company that surprises and delights their consumers? Nintendo of America is seeking a Database Administrator proficient in Amazon Web Services relational database services, focusing on Aurora MySQL and Oracle. This position also supports on-premise Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases in a dynamic team-based environment.

This position is responsible for managing databases in a hybrid (cloud and on-premise) environment. This person covers a wide range of database activities including analysis, tuning, design, integration, protection, and day-to-day support operations.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

* Perform tasks involved with building, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting databases following predetermined guidelines.
* Works with other Administrators to develop and modify databases addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations and monitoring needs.
* Executes database system backup and recovery plans
* Works with team members to define the functional and technical needs of an organization and recommend solutions.
* Assesses available technologies to meet needs, and then define technical specifications and designs on tasks of moderate scope and impact.
* Applies some creativity and latitude to design and deliver systems
* Works with orchestration technologies to automate tasks within area of expertise
* Reviews database operation and configuration to ensure it meets design criteria
* Creates monitoring to ensure databases are operating well
* Integrates systems with enterprise standards and enterprise tools
* Documents all technology changes through appropriate change control.
* Stays current on database technologies and techniques.
* Ensures work is completed in such a way to comply with established regulations and other internal controls.
* Provides on-call support on a scheduled basis.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum of one year of related experience in various database technologies, patterns and practices.
* One years' experience preferred using Amazon Web Services relational database technologies (Aurora/RDS) with at least one of the following relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL


* Progressively developing expertise with database technologies.
* Experience working on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
* May require solid knowledge of Windows, storage and network technologies.
* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* One or more of the following certifications/credentials preferred: Oracle Database Administration Certificate, Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert, Oracle Certified Associate and/or Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: SQL Server, Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL
