Job Description

Responsible for providing a top down strategic direction for business solution architecture in support of the overall enterprise architecture initiative. Guides the organization in the utilization of enterprise architecture frameworks and conventions (e.g. TOGAF, Conceptual, Logical and Target Reference Architectures) to guide and facilitate alignment across technology groups. Coordinates and facilitates Architecture Review Board meetings. Anticipates IT and industry future directions and relates trends and best practices to future solution architecture requirements and projects. Interfaces across the enterprise, acting as a visionary to proactively assist in defining direction on the adoption of solution architecture patterns, technologies and reuse of existing IT assets. May be called upon to provide any level of solution architecture guidance for single or multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Coordinate and facilitate cross functional Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings
* Establish and publish business solution development standards and reference architectures that facilitate reuse of common implementation patterns and application frameworks
* Monitor regulatory guidelines /laws and emerging industry standards to determine impact on the enterprise solution architectures and technology strategic direction
* Translate architecture artifacts (e.g. reference architectures, architecture and technology standards, roadmaps, and technical decisions) into easy to consume publications
* Conduct presentations providing an overview of architecture governance processes and architecture services
* Working with other IT groups to provide guidance on architecture documentation conventions and diagramming techniques
* Working with other IT groups to complete business and technical capability mapping of proposed solutions, in alignment with the enterprise digital strategy
* Stay abreast of, and evaluate, emerging solution development technologies


* A bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
* At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing business solutions
* At least 3 years of experience leveraging methodical approaches to drive alignment of solution design across the various perspectives of architecture (process, data, application, infrastructure and security architectures)
* At least 3 years of experience in implementing low code / no code solutions
* Ability to work closely with users/colleagues and translating user requirements into solution designs
* Knowledge and experience creating/documenting architecture artifacts such as architecture principles, standards, process models, information models, solution reference architecture diagrams and design documents
* Knowledge of ToGAF (and/or other Architecture centric methodologies) is highly desired
* Knowledge and experience in developing solutions compliant with regulatory and legal requirements within the Pharmaceutical Industry is a plus
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Visio; experience creating custom Visio stencils is a plus
* Knowledge of SharePoint site configurations to facilitate information dissemination is highly desired
* Knowledge of the use of Qlik to render dashboards that can be used to analysis the portfolio of IT assets is a plus
* Highly organized with great attention to detail

Objectives:

* Take ownership of the coordination and facilitation of weekly Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings
* Formalize a standard presentation template to drive consistency in ARB presentations
* Establish metrics to measure the realized value resulting from architecture reviews
* Establishing a business and technical capability view of the portfolio of IT assets
