Description
SAIC is seeking a highly professional and detail oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide acquisition management support to the Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Remote Sensing Systems Directorate (SMC/RS). The successful candidate will support the Directorate with acquisition planning support to include request for proposal development, proposal evaluations and monitoring of program execution to include recommending and implementing corrective actions. SMC/RS acquires space-based infrared surveillance and weather systems along with supporting ground mission processing infrastructure.
The Acquisition Manager performs several functions for the Remote Sensing Directorate:
* Generates and reviews Acquisition Strategies
* Supports development of RFP packages to include SOWs, CDRLS, CDL
* Supports proposal evaluation and preparations for negotiations
* Monitors contractor technical, cost and schedule performance
* Identifies execution issues and recommends corrective actions
* Develops and maintains acquisition documents, reports, fact sheets and overview briefings
* Reviews and generates key program and budgetary artifacts (papers, briefings, etc) to support communications with higher headquarters including HQ Air Force Space Command, HQ US Air Force, the Office of Secretary of Defense and Congress
The work location is at the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, El Segundo CA.
Qualifications
Clearance required to start: Secret
Clearance able to maintain to remain on the program: Secret
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
Job Requirements:
* Works proactively as a member of a highly effective government and contractor technical team to ensure the planning and execution of quality and timely products in support of the Remote Sensing System Directorate mission
* Effectively organizes multiple tasks in line with organizational objectives; projects upcoming needs and addresses ad hoc support requests to meet mission requirements
* Applies prior acquisition and/or space system experience and subject matter expertise to author and/or review key stakeholder presentations, reports, speeches, media releases that are of excellent technical quality, consistent with organizational objectives and key strategic messages in a timely fashion
* Ability to work closely with senior military and government civilians along with associate contractor personnel
* Bachelor of Science Degree
* Secret
* DAWIA Level II Program Manager
* Five years DoD acquisition experience
