Oculus Research is looking for an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our growing team in Redmond, WA. This full-time position is well suited for someone with a strong interest in advancing the state of the art in immersive audio experiences for augmented reality. Our interdisciplinary team is working to solve difficult problems at the intersection of acoustics, mechanical design, auditory perception, spatial audio and signal processing. The successful candidate will have strong algorithm development skills as well as, hands-on experience in the design and implementation of novel devices, and a solid understanding on audio signal processing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and implementation of novel signal processing algorithms
Implementation and tech-transfer of research papers and prototypes into devices and customer projects
Writing MATLAB code to drive real-time audio prototypes
Work with software engineers to implement algorithms in real-time
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Systems level knowledge in the complete audio processing chain
5+ years experience programming in MATLAB or C++
5+ years of experience signal processing algorithm development
5+ years of experience with debugging, deploying, and developing signal processing systems
3+ years of experience in real-time audio
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of industry experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Ph.D. or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
Experience shipping novel customer devices
Expertise in audio system design
Experience in the design and execution of psychoacoustic experiments
Experience with Python
