Applied Electromyography Researcher Facebook Reality Labs | Redmond, WA

As an Applied Electromyography Researcher at Facebook Reality Labs, you will be working on the cutting edge of human-computer interfaces and wearable technology for Augmented and Virtual Reality interfaces. You will work alongside experts in human-computer interaction, material science, body tracking, haptics, human perception, machine learning, and many other disciplines, to create the technology that will change the world.

Responsibilities

* Manage the complete workflow of EMG research, from experimental design, to data collection, pre-processing and analysis
* Apply current and develop new algorithms for EMG data analysis using best practices in biomedical and neuroscience fields
* Develop real-time measurement, decode and control software for EMG signals
* Work closely with materials scientists, soft-goods experts, engineers and interactions designers to advance the state of the art in wearable EMG systems
* Thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, fast-paced, and cross-disciplinary environment

Minimum Qualifications

* PhD in an biomedical engineering, neuroscience, computer science, mechanical engineering, robotics, signal processing or related field
* 3+ years experience collecting and processing electrophysiological data (EMG, EEG, MEG, iEEG, ECoG, EKG, etc.)
* 3+ years experience developing real-time control with electrophysiological systems

Preferred Qualifications

* 5+ years experience collecting and processing electrophysiological data
* 5+ years experience developing real-time control with electrophysiological systems
* Strong record of publications and presentations, and deep knowledge of relevant academic communities in robotics, rehabilitation, human computer interaction, wearable technology, and others
* Experience with applying machine learning to electrophysiological data
* Experience with consumer grade wearable technology
* Experience creating and working with custom electrophysiological hardware
* Experience working on teams with a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines
