Overview An Applications Technician is a salary, exempt employee who provides support and leadership to General/Operations Managers within the Division. The position ensures the highest quality of customer service is provided within the Region and provides administrative support in the areas of routing, software implementation, integration of information and trouble shooting of issues and systems. The position reports directly to the Regional Operations Applications Manager and consults with the Terminal Management Team. Responsibilities Oversees all day-to-day routing and software issues for regional facility operations.

Provide guidance, leadership, management and evaluation of technical issues and concepts to non-technical staff.

Develop and maintain close relationships with customers.

Knowledge and understanding of all School District routes and service areas.

Coordination and assistance with Regional Operations Applications Manager to develop, streamline and enhance processes for efficiency and eliminate redundant processes.

Understanding and enforcing all STA policies and State and Federal applicable regulations.

Performs other duties as required by STA Senior Management.

Willingness to travel to terminals and support management teams in their operation.

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University or College in Geography, GIS or Geomatics preferred, not required.

At least one year experience with GIS or other information systems.

Willingness and aptitude in learning new software and ability to teach to others new concepts.

Advanced level of working knowledge with MS Office (Excel).

Exposure or competency with programming language to include Python, SQL, C# preferred.

Experience supporting end users (i.e. resetting passwords, setting up new user accounts, terminating accounts, etc.).

Prior experience managing multi-facilities preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normally in an operations environment. However, the job will require travel to facilities within the region.

The Application Technician will be based in the company's Regional Office. The position will also require frequent travel to the company's bus terminals to interact with employees and may require overnight stay. This travel will generally include travel to various regional areas where the company's operations are located. As directed by management and business need, travel may include other areas of the US.
