Position Summary

The Applications Architect will have progressive experience in IT including excellent technical skills with specific experience as an Architect focused on Enterprise Applications technologies. He/she is expected to provide thought leadership to technical strategy, including driving applications roadmaps, reviewing and analyzing current architecture and its ability to support strategic objectives.

The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders and internal IT staff, while demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills, deep analytical skills, technical expertise, solution orientation, strategic thinking, the ability to establish rapport at all levels of the organization, and the ability to drive consensus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Defines and lead a robust enterprise architecture for building new applications and releases, leveraging and enhancing existing building blocks, or creating new reusable components.
* Understands the long-term business objectives and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives by introducing innovation through technology.
* Leading the design, development, and implementation cycles on various projects as well as conducting design, code, QA walkthroughs and reviews.


* Evaluate new and current enterprise applications in hybrid environment consists of Cloud, On-premise & Custom built applications and provide recommendations to consolidate under a best-of-breed architecture and technology stack.


* Implement industry standard architecture across all applications in IT & the organization.


* Serves as a technical consultant to team members and as a mentor to other developers to improve their designs and documentation.


* Acts as a technical liaison between various teams in the organization as well as 3rd party development partners.


* Communicates designed solutions directly with customers and stakeholders to ensure projects follow the agreed upon Enterprise Architecture standards.


* Stays up to date on the ever-changing technology industry to ensure developed solutions are following both internal and industry "best practices". These solutions must also meet the needs of the business going forward.


* Performs gap analysis between current architecture(s) and proposed design concepts, identifying challenges and opportunities


* Partners with development teams and provides guidance ensuring development is in compliance with the technical architecture or direction


* Troubleshoots technical issues and provides recommendation/solution to resolve


* Collaborates with all stakeholders including End-Users, Project Managers, Creative Designers, Developers and marketing to ensure successful delivery of projects


* Performs other duties as required



Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Location

Education

* BS degree in Computer Science, related fields or equivalent practical experience

Experience

* 10+ years of IT industry experience, with minimum of five years architecting digital solutions
* Proven experience as an application or solution architect

Skills

* Ability to demonstrate strong communication, project management, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Deep familiarity with many of the following: Distributed Systems, Databases, Data Processing, Streaming data, API design, and Security
* Ability to demonstrate strong communication, project management, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals - object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm - design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
* Ability to understand technical subjects, emerging technologies, and their relevance to the marketplace
* Ability to work well and exert influence as a member of a highly integrated team, composed of both technical and non-technical members
* Experience in .NET, JavaScript frameworks, J2EE, RAD plaforms, API development is a plus
