Job Description

This is a full time, 260 day position with benefits; 12 holidays and 22 vacation days per year. Hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary listed is for the 2018-2019 school year.

JOB TITLE: Application Systems Analyst

JOB PLACEMENT: Non-Represented Schedule

DEPARTMENT: Technology Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, provide technical support and data integration for district Software as a Service (SaaS) or hosted on premise server-based applications as assigned to support district needs. Duties include enhancements, upgrades, and other needed modifications to existing systems and/or researching new applications as directed. Provide Tier 3 support for troubleshooting, analysis, maintenance, and development of core operational, student, and other district systems and applications.

RESPONSIBLITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Provide support for applications supporting functionality and configuration for core student information, timekeeping, work order, and other systems as assigned.
* Provide support for district SharePoint applications to create sites, apply permissions, support end users and overall district operations.
* Provide support for modifying, scripting or otherwise customizing code in various programming languages and xml to satisfy district requirements.
* Provide support for implementation, maintenance and upgrades for applications to support business and instructional processes, as assigned by supervisor.
* Design, create, and maintain reports, data flow between applications, and other data support services.
* Participate in planning and implementing strategies concerning applications, collaborating with department staff concerning goals and strategies.
* Provide technical support and research for new applications as assigned when new systems are required to streamline and/or otherwise support business and instructional processes.
* Work with end users and technical staff to solve problems and enhance functionality of district applications on enterprise systems.
* Implement and comply with District Policies.
* Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job.

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other closely related field.
* Minimum (3) years' experience managing and administering enterprise level applications.
* Experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers, PowerShell scripting, and general knowledge of networking.
* Extensive knowledge of relational database management systems, including SQL, database design, development, reporting, and management tools.
* Proven ability to integrate and secure dissimilar application systems and database platforms.
* General knowledge in one or more modern object-oriented programming languages.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high stress, high demand environment.
* Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
* Skill and ability to communicate with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner both verbally and in writing.
* Skills and abilities in organization, time management, record keeping.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Microsoft MCSE certification and/or equivalent experience.
* Have ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Certification or be willing to attend training and complete basic Foundations ITIL Certification within the first year of employment.
* Systems Administrator experience with a K-12 Student Information System (SIS).
* Experience and/or knowledge of administering and developing custom solutions in the Microsoft Office 365 and Google G-Suite ecosystems.
* Experience and knowledge of school district business processes and annual cycles.
* Experience with report writing packages. (e.g., SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, iReport, etc.).
* General knowledge of networking concepts in both LAN and WAN environments.
* Experience with Windows desktop clients, the Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Access.
