Application Developer

Job Summary

CNA is looking for Application Developer focused on building enterprise web applications and web services in an agile software development environment. This role will play a key part in developing industry standard and best-practice applications - utilizing modern and cutting-edge development languages, frameworks and methodologies.

As part of the CNA, you will join a XP team, of highly skilled individuals tasked with re-imagining the next generation of CNA's applications - part of this team will be highly focused on the UI/server side of this effort; ability to pick up new technologies quickly; Team-oriented perspective with a collaborative operating style.

What We're Looking For

* Experience developing distributed software systems using Java, Spring framework and Spring Boot.
* Experience in Object Oriented and Service Oriented Architectures as well as Design Patterns.
* Experience in web and web service development using SOAP, and REST.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills.
* A passion for growing skills and solving complex and challenging problems.
* Experience in developing integration solutions using messaging systems like Apache Kafka/ActiveMQ/MQ.

Good to have

* Working knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

* Experience with open source web technologies such as NodeJS, ReactJS, AngularJS etc

* Strong understanding of TDD and automated unit, integration & acceptance testing.

* Understanding of CI/CD process and pipelines.

* Experience with Docker or Kubernetes based microservices deployment.

* Working closely with product owners in researching and prototyping new capabilities.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
* Typically 5 years of systems analysis and application program development experience.
* Some previous project leadership experience.
* Applicable certifications preferred.
