The Application Delivery Lead is responsible for the delivery of business capabilities from the beginning to the end of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in a specified domain. This role is specialized for the business functions it supports and the technology it employs. The will be a subject matter expert in one or more elements of the domain they support. This role will be accountable for: the interface with the business to understand requirements and process, the translation of those requirements into a solution, the development and testing of that solution, and the transition of that solution into production. They will assist in optimizing the delivery processes and lead a team of resources through the SDLC in the delivery of application enhancements and elements of larger initiatives. A successful candidate will combine hands on functional/technical skills with the ability to design solutions (People, Process and Technology) and lead a delivery team.

Responsibilities

* Act as the delivery lead for key project/initiatives within the application domain, or act as the lead over a work stream in a multifaceted program.


* May plan overall capacity for the team supporting this domain space with the Senior Application Delivery Lead and/or partner with their Head of Application Delivery and Business Engagement Leads to optimize capacity against forecasted demand
* Lead a team of BA's in partnering with the business to elicit business requirement needs, and then represent and document these requirements into requirement specifications for implementation


* Lead the capture, review and update business requirements and communicate to team members. Produce deliverables including:
* Business Capability Matrix and other detailed requirements documentation as required
* Business rules to be captured in metadata layer
* Communication and training materials (as needed)
* May serve as the solution architect for their application domain, working with the Lead Architect and Technical Architect as well as other Domain Leads, CoEs and AXIS Enterprise Architecture groups for small to medium sized initiatives. Establish high level design and provide guidance to the delivery teams to follow for the project/initiative/application. Assess and lead the review of the technical deliverables during the design phase of a project.


* Leverage and lead sourcing vendor(s) for delivery (build/test/deploy). Ensure sourcing vendors provide services in accordance with the agreed scope & service level agreement (SLA) for the given project/initiative, meeting design standards, meeting performance metrics, including key performance indicators, user satisfaction targets, operating level agreements.


* Help manage technical dependencies across delivery streams throughout projects/initiatives. Coordinate and manage the integration of capabilities into existing production environments - as well as technical dependencies with other development teams, infrastructure, security, etc.
* Participate in the introduction and change control process (e.g., transition from project development team to the application maintenance team) of a new application or capability.


* Enable the optimization of artifacts, processes, and tools used by the team through the software development lifecycle for delivery of work within the domain. This includes but is not limited to requirement/design standards, use of TFS, frameworks, and various accelerators.


* May support the delivery of the Business Architecture by partnering with stakeholders and functional lead(s) to identify business process issues and capability needs in the context of discreet processes.
* Analyze and tune application performance, supportability, and manageability. Recommend improvement initiatives.


* Liaise between technical and non-technical resource team members to answer day to day business questions either directly or indirectly as supported by the Business Leads and SMEs


* Conduct walkthroughs with project team members and business leads as needed


* Promote change management principles with executives, senior leaders, managers and supervisors to influence, build relationships, and manage resistance
* Provide support during end user training, prior to production deployments

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Must have Reinsurance experience in Property and Casualty
* If located outside of NY, must be able to travel to NY several days a week to meet with business partners.
* Experience with SICS or a comparable Reinsurance platform
* Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science preferred
* 7+ years experience in P&C Insurance industry with Reinsurance experience and business analysis preferred
* Leadership experience defining, designing, developing, and implementing complex integration business solutions
* Relevant experience in the technology and business domain they support.
* 7+ years of direct, relevant experience in building and maintaining reports and analytical tools (preferably in the Insurance industry or consumer finance industry)
* 7+ years of experience using SQL and BI reporting tools with preferred experience in Business Objects
* 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Tableau
* Experience with data dictionaries, data warehousing, enterprise application integration, metadata registry, Master Data Management (MDM), relational databases, Semantics, data retention, Structured Query Language (SQL), Procedural SQL
* Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the management information architecture, including the plans, interdependencies, schedule, budget, tools, and required personnel for developing and maintaining the data environment across potentially heterogeneous platforms
* Experience working with vendors, system integrators, and/ or in a managed service environment.
* Experience developing technical documentation including storyboarding, business requirements, use cases and presentations
* Dedicated and detail oriented
* Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across the organization on a regular basis
* Excellent Analytical skills
