Data influences all of the decisions we make at Tinder. With tens of millions of users and a presence in every country, our data is expansive - and rapidly growing. As an Android Engineer for the Data Platform, you will architect and build SDKs to support and improve Tinder's data instrumentation at scale. You will work closely with Data and Backend engineers, focusing on the on-device implementation of analytics. You will provide innovative, shared libraries and frameworks to promote best practices through standardization and unification. You will also have the opportunity to build applications and tools to improve data quality, analytics, and developer efficiency during integration and regression testing.

The Data Platform's team's projects are paramount to Tinder's success as a data-driven company, and offer continual opportunities to collaborate throughout the organization.

This is a full time position based in our offices in Los Angeles, CA and Palo Alto, CA.

As an Android Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will:

* Scope, design, and implement a reliable framework for data instrumentation
* Monitor and improve event instrumentation, performance, and reliability
* Apply strategic performance improvements and optimizations
* Integrate with REST and Websocket backend
* Build tools to facilitate testing and analytics data quality

We're looking for:

* A strong software architect well-versed in design patterns (eg. you've worked with MVP, Clean or MVVM and know the benefits of each)
* Someone interested in Kotlin, who's using Retrolambda and know what's new in Java 8
* Someone comfortable working with legacy code and improving it
* Experience building large-scale, modular mobile apps handling high volumes of traffic
* Experience working in a collaborative team environment
* Experience with unit testing and dependency injection
* Experience/knowledge of data instrumentation and analytics
