Job Description

PDT has multiple strategies which make investment and execution decisions automatically and algorithmically. Our Technical and Trading Operations team manages our production plant and runs our global real-time trading business around the clock from New York City. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the center of a leading quantitative trading firm with exposure to many parts of the business, and a crucial role in helping them fit together.

We are seeking a highly technical Operations Engineer to join our Technical and Trading Operations team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with fellow team members as well as technologists, risk managers, and portfolio managers to oversee both our trading and technology and respond to alerts and other signs of irregular activity. You will guide our systems through pre-market activities, real-time trade execution, and post-session processing, in a fast-paced environment that requires focus, judgment, and quick reflexes. This will ordinarily be during US hours, but will periodically rotate onto Asia and Europe shifts as coverage deems necessary. You should also be excited to leverage your technical skills to drive innovation and development within the space, whether that be developing tools, improving processes, or contributing code to larger firmwide initiatives.

Why join us? PDT Partners has a stellar twenty-four-year track record and a reputation for excellence. Our goal is to be the best quantitative investment manager in the world-measured by the quality of our products, not their size. PDT's extremely high employee-retention rate speaks for itself. Our people are intellectually exceptional, and our community is close-knit, down-to-earth, and diverse.

* Help launch new strategies and models.
* Support post-trade activities to aid effective clearing and accurate record-keeping.
* Improve existing tools, automate processes, and build new detective controls to allow us to find and respond to ever subtler and more complex issues algorithmically.

Qualifications:

* Entry-level to 3 years of relevant work experience. We welcome applicants interested in a long-term career with PDT
* Proficiency in Python, plus some exposure to Flask, Java, C#, SQL, UNIX/Linux, networking, cloud technologies, scheduling/orchestration, etc.
