How will you make an impact?

We are seeking an Algorithm Development Scientist to join our research and development team responsible for the development of our award-winning series of handheld analyzers used for identification in a wide array of markets.

What will you do?

* Develop our next generation algorithm platforms for our handheld devices for spectroscopic data and other elemental analysis techniques
* Explore and introduce latest machine learning (ML) and computing algorithms for our handheld product development
* Collaborate with the Application development and software engineering teams to improve our existing products and develop our next generation of portable devices.
* Assist in system-level characterization and testing of new handhelds in product development
* Participate in product development project teams for existing and new products in our pipeline

How will you get here?

* Master/PhD degrees with a concentration in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Experience

* Expertise in one or more machine learning, algorithm development language (Matlab, Python) is essential; working knowledge of C/C++ or cloud platform computing is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Knowledge of molecular spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR, NIR) or atomic spectroscopy (XRF, atomic emission) and instrumentation desirable but not required
* Desire and ability to work in an established R&D group, as well as interface effectively with customers, manufacturing and customer support
* Knowledge and experience of latest machine learning, statistical modeling, or AI techniques
