Job Description

The Systems Engineering Technical Center is a corporate resource for applying systems engineering best practices across MITRE's programs. We collaborate with customer-facing organizations and other MITRE technical centers, conduct research, and engage in strategic outreach to industry and academia. The SETC develops and stewards a corporate SE body of knowledge that draws on expertise from across the corporation.

The intersection of systems engineering, agile practices and model based engineering offers strong promise as an approach for addressing our Sponsors' most pressing challenges.

Incorporating this within a digital engineering environment that includes collaboration across multiple stakeholders perspectives and organizational boundaries is essential.

This position is aimed at a person who has extensive, exemplary experience in working across a diverse set of organizations and business domains.

The focus is on systems architecture modeling and tradespace analysis, including systems design and development, multidisciplinary modeling and simulation, design of experiments, data analytics, and others.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge in some of these key areas and help the department leadership team with work shaping, direction and quality.

Previous industry experience is preferred as there is a lot of emphasis on production and reusability.

Required

BS and 10 years of related experience, including 2 years of leadership experience

Demonstrated thought leadership in the field of agile model based systems engineering

Strong system design and analysis skills

Superior communication skills in engaging with senior leaders as well as engineers

Strong record of consulting

Strong skills in executable modeling

Preferred qualifications

Preference given to candidates w/ an active clearance

Ph.D. in technical field

20 years related experience
