    THE TRAVO STORY

    In 2011, Tae joined a small startup as their chief operator. In three short years, the startup grew 1000% with close to 300 employees, many of who traveled constantly for work. Due to the company's amazing growth, it used many travel management services from full-service travel agencies to semi-self-serve corporate booking software to even just using the most popular online travel agencies to plan and book its business trips. But all these services were extremely frustrating and were more geared toward corporate cost efficiency efforts and not actually helping the traveler plan and book the most optimal trip in record time. So Tae wondered, what if there was a way to combine incredible amounts of travel data and develop an algorithm specifically geared toward business travelers? After having many conversations with industry experts, the consensus was that Tae's "secret sauce" would be freaking amazing and TRAVO was born! Few short months later, after bootstrapping with personal funds, TRAVO got the attention of elite investors, and were oversubscribed for funding in a matter of weeks! Since then, it's been a crazy, fun, rollercoaster ride that is somewhere between being strapped to the hood of a Formula One race car and sky diving off of a jet airplane.

    We're a Santa Monica, CA based stealth startup backed by some of the top venture capitalists in the nation including investors in Snapchat, Warby Parker, Nest, Houzz, Ok Cupid and many more! Our team consists of top level executives from multi-billion dollar companies with industry know-how to win. We're building a world class engineering team to take us to new heights.     WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    We subscribe to the philosophy that fewer, highly motivated, brilliant engineers who are a strong cultural fit are more powerful than an army of engineers who do not understand why what they do matters and have little awareness of things happening outside of engineering due to the sheer size and the leadership of the organization.

    We are currently every definition of a successful seed funded startup. Amazing Idea? Check. Passionate small team? Check. Enough funds to make a serious go at it? Check. But we all know, ideas are dime a dozen, small teams sometimes mean lack of resources, and "enough funds" is relative compared to other seed stage startups. So we need engineers who are BUILDERS and EXECUTORS. Engineers who don't get caught up in figuring out how to maximize self profit by working less and getting paid more but constantly asking themselves, "did I do all I can to help the company succeed?" Engineers who value transparency, teamwork, and constantly work to figure out how they can be the best at their craft.
