What We Do

Tightrope Interactive, Inc. develops and markets world class products that generate type-in Internet search queries for our clients.

Tightrope was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in New York. The company was bootstrapped by our two co-founders who both still co-own Tightrope, and has an established track record of profitability.

How We Interview & Hire

According to Hired, the job search process is painful. It’s our hope that by using Hired, there will be less friction between prospective candidates and Tightrope because “their platform is built by engineers for engineers to eliminate the headache of finding your next dream job.” Hopefully there are some graphic/web designers here too.

How do we do this?

At every stage of your interview process, expectations should be clear. We understand that time is your most valuable asset. If at any point through the process we don’t believe you will be the right fit for a role, we will communicate that to you in a timely manner.

Interview Process – DevOps Engineers (scroll down for Graphic & Web Designers)

DevOps GoToMeeting Screen: A member of our technical team based out of our San Francisco office will set up a 30 to 45 minute GoToMeeting to gain an understanding of your background and skills, which includes a quick oral quiz with questions that are hopefully fairly easy for you. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the role and Tightrope in general.

DevOps Hiring Manager: Candidates who pass the GoToMeeting screen will be reviewed by a management panel that includes your hiring manager. They will reach out directly to you to schedule another GoToMeeting, which will include a more in-depth evaluation of your methods for solving technical problems in real-time.

Technical Team: Candidates tentatively approved by their hiring manager will be interviewed by senior members of the technical team in a series of one-on-one or group interviews via GoToMeeting, or onsite (if convenient), which will include broader technical questions.

More Teams: Candidates who do well in the technical team interviews will be interviewed via GoToMeeting or onsite (if convenient) by senior members from teams that include product management, project management, creative, and the like.

Co-founder: Candidates who successfully run the gauntlet will be interviewed via GoToMeeting, or onsite (if convenient) by one of our co-founders.

Interview Process – Graphic & Web Designers (scroll up for DevOps Engineers)

Creative GoToMeeting Screen: A member of our creative team based out of our San Francisco office will set up a 20 to 30 minute GoToMeeting to gain an understanding of your background and skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the role and Tightrope in general.

Creative Hiring Manager: Candidates who pass the GoToMeeting screen will be reviewed by a management panel that includes your hiring manager. They will reach out directly to you to schedule another GoToMeeting.

More People: Candidates who pass the creative hiring manager interview will be interviewed via GoToMeeting or onsite (if convenient) by senior members from teams that include creative, product management, project management, and the like.

Co-founder: Candidates who successfully run the gauntlet will be interviewed via GoToMeeting, or onsite (if convenient) by one of our co-founders.

Interview Process – All Positions

We strive to complete the interview process from GoToMeeting screen to co-founder interview in roughly two business weeks. Again, if at any point through the process we don’t believe you will be the right fit for a role, we will communicate that to you in a timely manner.

There are intentionally a number of interviews because we are a close knit company where each individual makes a meaningful impact on our business. This process should help you determine if Tightrope will be a good fit for you too.

Post Interviews: Interviewers are debriefed by members of the hiring panel in order to reach a consensus on the candidate, or candidates (if we’re hiring for more than one position at the time) who should be vetted for an offer.

Background & Reference Check: If the hiring panel decides to move forward, we will run a standard background and reference check (3 references). Tightrope is an equal opportunity employer that follows applicable federal, state and local laws.
