Success Academy is redefining what’s possible in public education. Our dual mission is to:
Build exceptional, world-class public schools that prove that all children from all backgrounds can succeed in college and life; serve as a catalyst and national model for education reform, and help change public policies that prevent so many children from having access to opportunity.
Our task is more urgent now than ever. At one in four public schools citywide, 90% of children are failing to meet grade-level benchmarks. 143,000 students — most of them low-income students of color — are trapped in failing schools.
Our belief that all children deserve a world-class education drives us to mobilize parents and teachers to advance education reform, ensure that great schools are allowed to thrive, and share what we know about making schools successful.
Success Academy believes that building a diverse team of teachers, leaders, and support staff is essential to fulfilling our dual mission of providing a world-class education for our scholars and reforming education in the United States for all children. The varying perspectives brought by people of diverse races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, genders, and sexual orientations strengthen our entire school community and foster relationships with our scholars, especially when they can personally relate to the backgrounds and experiences of staff members who are their role models. Having a diverse workforce opens the door to essential conversations about equality and opportunity and lays the groundwork for our scholars to succeed in college and beyond in an increasingly multicultural world. We value the personal contributions of every employee and seek to create an even more collaborative, dynamic, and inclusive school community.
