At Stockwell we’re building the retail platform of the future. The past few years have seen massive changes to the retail landscape: legacy retailers have filed for bankruptcy as foot traffic to stores has dropped, vertical-specific online-only retailers are attempting to upend retail economics by abandoning all physical presence, and acquisitions galore: Amazon’s bought Whole Foods, Walmart bought Jet, Target bought Shipt, etc.
We’re perfectly positioned in this shifting market. Our automated microstores (or, if you prefer, vending machines) bring the relevant slice of retail to where people live, work, and play. Because our stores have no moving parts, a Stockwell operator can sell whatever items they want from the shelves of our stores. Instead, we use computer vision to enable a seamless shopping experience.
Our core mission is to democratize physical distribution for retailers and brands alike, so that our users can discover and fall in love with a perfect set of products tailored just for them and their lifestyle. Our stores pay for themselves in less than a year, which means anyone can own and operate a Stockwell, and we’re talking to mom-and-pop franchisees and major retailers alike to figure out the right path to market.
Over the next year, we plan on growing our store count from 70 in the bay area to 2000 across the USA. Come help us get there!
