SmartPay Leasing is a technology-driven company that works with leading wireless retailers and prepaid phone companies to provide innovative device leasing solutions to consumers nationwide. We use software and proprietary data analytics to solve the hard problems of underwriting consumers with minimal credit history. With SmartPay, consumers can get the devices they want today and pay over time with easy, scheduled payments.

Headquartered in San Francisco’s Financial District, SmartPay Leasing is a subsidiary of TEMPOE, a specialty finance company based in Cincinnati. SmartPay Leasing was spun out of Better Finance, #1 among the Fastest Growing Private Companies in San Francisco in 2015, and a Bay Area News Group Top Workplace in 2014.

Our interview process starts with a phone call with the hiring manager. We want to tell you about the company, role, and get to know you a bit. If you are a software engineer, we'll send you a technical assessment to complete on your own time. The next step is coming to the office or meeting virtually to meet more of the team. If all goes well, we reach the final step of offer.

We know looking for a new gig is work and a big decision. So we want to move quickly through the process while being flexible based on your schedule.

What We Look For

We like people that work well with others and take pride in their work. It's important for you to be a finisher that is pragmatic and honest. We are a small team distributed in San Francisco, Chicago, and Tampa with a nice "work from home" policy. So you'll need to be communicative, self-directed, and collaborative. Lastly, you are unafraid of mature systems - in fact - you enjoy the idea of shifting, evolving, improving platforms.
