We were lucky enough to spend years in a workplace community that felt like a family. This bond not only made us happier and more productive, but also kept us together during tough times.
As crazy as it sounds, we can remember at least ten* tools our teammates used to work together, help each other and keep in touch. The freedom to bring new communications tools to the workplace made everyone feel like an owner of the office culture.
Shift workers in retail and hospitality (people who don’t work in offices) have very few communications tools designed for them. Their workplaces are very different from office settings in that their coworkers aren’t all physically present at the same time and there typically isn’t a workplace email directory.
We’ve designed a tool from the ground up specifically for helping these shift workers build communities as strong as the one we enjoyed in our office setting. What does this mean? We’re starting with a mobile app that any retail or hospitality worker can bring to their workplace to swap shifts with and message any of their coworkers. We want to make it easy for coworkers to help each other by offering up extra hours and covering one another.
