What We Do
Like many great solutions, SendGrid was born from the frustration of three engineers whose application's emails didn't get delivered, so they built an app for email deliverability. Since launching in 2009, SendGrid is now responsible for sending billions of emails for some of the best and brightest companies in the world. Come join us as we deliver the products and services that take email and customer engagement to the next level.
How We Interview & Hire
Our interview process starts with an introduction where we'll learn about you, your desires, and your background and you'll get the same opportunity to learn about SendGrid. We want to make sure you understand who we are as an organization and that we both believe there is a mutual fit. Once we've determined that SendGrid could be your future home, you'll have the opportunity to speak with your future manager covering both the expectations of the role and allow them to further determine if your skills will allow you to thrive in our environment. If you're an engineer, you'll then get the opportunity to show of some off your skills by going through a technical interview. When it's time to come on site, you'll be greeted by a cross-functional team that will give you insight into what it's like to work at SendGrid while they also get the privilege to assess your functional, technical, and behavioral competencies relative to your role. Throughout the process, you'll be guided by our recruiting team who's goal is to make this the best possible experience for you.
SendGrid Values. The 4 "H's"
Originally, SendGrid had three “H”s and one “S” (which stood for Smart). Happy replaced Smart because it had universal value, which was reiterated throughout the hiring cycle. We love what we do. It shows in the positive and constructive attitude we bring to everything we do. We know how to have a good time; life is more than work.
We have high expectations, and expect high performance of ourselves and our teams. We constantly look to innovate and improve. That is why SendGrid encourages professional development through various opportunities. Some of these
include conferences, on-site and off-site learning, and other career growth resources. Arm-in-arm, we play to win and keep raising the bar to deliver results.
We also exemplify a customer-first mindset across everything we do, always learning from our colleagues, partners, and customers. We are one team, focused on the “we” rather than the “I.” It may seem verbally cosmetic if a team member uses “I” during meetings, but SendGrid only works if we work together. This collaborative attitude is consistent during success and failures.
We are transparent and therefore share information and feedback freely. We act with integrity and our actions are those that would make our loved ones proud. We are honest with ourselves, and use data to provide the best insights. We rely on open and transparent communication. Transparency is apparent in our remarkable All Hands meetings. This allocated time allows for Gridders to report the good, the bad, and the ugly. Maintaining close-knit communications is critical for operations to run smoothly across different departments and locations, and promote a One SendGrid.
