Hey there! We're Scratch.

Scratch brings world-class product and technical thinking to the antiquated and extremely manual loan servicing industry, a 60B dollar industry. Together with a handful of superb engineering talent, we've spent the last two years in stealth mode proving out the technology and building our platform from scratch - pun intended. :)

What We Do

We’re tackling the ancient and massive ($60B) loan servicing space that impacts almost every person in the country. The short story is that when a borrower gets a loan, that’s just the beginning of a decades-long relationship, and borrowers have historically been treated awfully (literally: see 1 & 2 below). Our mission is to finally give borrowers the experience they deserve.

What’s at stake? Scratch aims to be the source of truth for trillions of dollars, which means we must take high-quality engineering seriously. It’s crucial we have accuracy and precision on non-trivial math down to seven decimal places with no data loss or security compromises. Because of the space, we've built out a lot of infrastructure in a very thoughtful manner. We have plenty of meaty, fun technical problems to solve and need more engineers to help solve them!

Who we are

We’re a 40+ person, series A-funded startup based in San Francisco (3). We've built a culture centered on intellectual curiosity, solving hard technical problems, and inclusivity. We’re also funded by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley and New York: Index Ventures, Founders Fund, Ribbit Capital, JP Morgan, and NYCA.
