ScaleArc was started with a mission to commoditize database scalability and availability. For the longest time, building a high-performance and resilient database stack for applications has been an exotic art only a few have been able to master. Those that have managed to do so (the Googles, Amazons, Facebooks and LinkedIns of the world), have done it with extreme engineering resources and purpose-built applications and data access stacks that aren’t usable by the rest of the world due to their proprietary nature and heavy engineering requirements.

We are building an innovative product that is revolutionizing the way applications interact with databases for improved availability, scalability and performance. Our universal database traffic management platform sits transparently between the applications and databases enabling an agile data tier that lets anyone with a web application, small or large, transparently harness the power of distributed, scalable and resilient databases on-premise or in public and private clouds, without any changes to the application or database tier. ScaleArc platform includes a patented query flow engine, query routing and load balancing, query and response caching, replication and database high-availability management, deep query analytics, and much more. Our product has allowed customers such as Microsoft, Dell.com, Qualcomm, Fandango, Wal-Mart Labs, Lookout and many others to significantly improve their application performance, increase availability, and reduce database troubleshooting and maintenance efforts considerably.

We are a product-driven company where engineers are valued and empowered to influence product strategy, and propose and drive product initiatives. They work with the product management, support, sales, and customers to identify and address problems, gather requirements, and build innovative solutions. Our team includes engineers and technical leaders from companies such as Oracle, IBM, Cisco, Sybase, Symantec, Citrix, EnterpriseDB, ParAccel, Delphix, NeoPath Networks, NetScalar, CloudVelocity, to name a few. We have deep expertise in distributed/ cluster systems, databases, storage, networking, massively scalable high-performance web platforms, cloud, virtualization, big-data analytics, user interfaces, and much more.

We are expanding our engineering team at our HQ in Santa Clara and are looking for seasoned technical leaders to architect, design and develop the distributed scalable components of our product stack. As we roll ScaleArc out to ever-larger customers and service-providers, a new set of challenges need to be tackled. Supporting query traffic from more SQL and NoSQL databases, active-active clustering, distributed configuration management, automated service provisioning and decommissioning, data aggregation from across multiple nodes, infrastructure and tools for easy diagnosis of faults across a distributed system, and cool user interfaces to manage all of it are required. If you love innovation and live deep in distributed systems algorithms, python, systems programming, and have expertise in one or more of networking and SQL protocols, sockets programming, packet routing, events, queues, multithreading, connection pooling, caching, query optimization, distributed database internals and data architectures, clustering, high-availability, automation and cloud, you’ll be right at home.
