Querium was founded to address the lack of student success in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and math). Our mission is to help these students master the skills they need to achieve their career ambitions.
Mastery of math and science is critical to achieving the degrees and certifications necessary for most high-paying careers, yet 70% of incoming community college students are unprepared for college-level work and are required to take one or more developmental education courses. Students must pay tuition for these courses, but receive no credit toward graduation. In most states they must pass their remedial courses before they can register for the classes they desire in their field of study. Frustration with these academic foundation courses is a major reason students drop out of college. About 40% of college students fail to return for their second year, and only about 8% of students who take developmental education courses in community colleges graduate.
The founding team at Querium has experience building and leading successful startup companies. The management and board of Querium have more than 100 years of combined experience in delivering award-winning math and science education products to students, as well as successful delivery of complex software solutions.
