App commerce started in 2008, with the release of the first app store. Retailers quickly started offering their own branded apps, and making them available on the app store. App commerce uses native technology to offer a new type of shopping experience, previously unavailable with the mobile web.
Customers stay logged in forever,can pay with a fingerprint, and navigate inside the store. The Poq platform combines this with related app technologies such as beacons, deep linking, app marketing, mobile payments and personalisation. Together this defines the next generation of retail on mobile.

Poq was founded in September 2011 by Michael Langguth, Oyvind Henriksen. For 10 years Oyvind was the tech lead and board member for InCreo, Norway’s leading eCommerce agency, where he had built two enterprise level ecommerce platforms. Very soon Jun Seki joined as a 2nd technical co-founder, whom Oyvind had met on a holiday. The two recognised their common developer background through Jun's Linkin Park t-shirt. Rock and Rap music have always been a core part to Poq's tech team, together with obviously beer and pizza. We are proud to be a tech lead company in the enterprise SaaS space. This puts us apart from other companies in this field.
