Peg was founded in 2014 by 3 nerds (Nic, Alex and Julia) in London, UK. We believe that independent video creators are the future of content - by building tools that help creators across the globe we hope to improve the world's video content.

    What's a typical week for a developer?

Well "typical weeks" don't really happen at Peg, but as a developer you might find yourself:

    • Working on enhancements to our search backend to surface more creators in developing countries.
    • Helping to implement one-click deploys, and deepening our Continuous Integration setup.
    • Brainstorming ideas and applicable technologies with the CEO and CTO for increasing Peg's stickiness.
    • Using Skylight to investigate performance issues on the site.
    • Becoming inspired by the 95 knitting creators on Peg, attempting unsuccessfully to knit a tea cosy.

How do we interview and hire?

We try and keep things simple at Peg. We'll kick things off with a simple coding exercise to complete at home (it's very lightweight and shouldn't take more than 20 mins) and a phone call. Then we'll bring you in to interview with us - and we stick to a maximum of two rounds. The second round includes a pair programming exercise, working through a real-world task modelled on the kind of problems we're tackling at Peg.

    Why work at Peg?

OK, we're very biased, but we think Peg is an incredible place to work. Part of it is the people: from our CEO, who ran the fastest growing YouTube channel in the world, to our CTO who's previously trained hundreds of developers, we think we have a world class team that's uniquely placed to shake-up the world of content. Part of it are the problems we're tackling: we face technical and business challenges that are tough, but offer massive opportunities if we crack them. Plus they're just fun to solve. Lastly there's the Peg culture. We're all geeks at heart and love to learn - from our little Peg library, to our regular Pegucation sessions, if you love learning, you'll love Peg.
