Panjiva creates insight from messy global trade data, leveraging high-performance engineering, natural-language processing, and machine learning to provide powerful search, analysis, and visualization tools for more than a billion shipping records. We seek to set the industry standard in international trade data and analytics with one of the world’s largest maps of the global supply chain network.

Our platform is used by more than 3000 customers—Fortune 500 companies, startups, government agencies, hedge funds, among others— in over 100 countries to find new suppliers and customers, monitor supply chains, make investment decisions, and much more. Better insight into global trade means better decision making and stronger connections between companies and governments around the world.

Our team

Our engineering team runs a nimble development process, deploying to production multiple times per day. The entire team participates in all aspects of product development, from domain research and user experience, to discussions about architecture and roadmap, and improving engineering automation and infrastructure. In a single day, an engineer can work on a front-end data visualization in React, configure AWS instances, and optimize a distributed search engine. We have robust continuous integration, using frequent code reviews and automated tests to ensure the quality of our work, while moving fast. New engineers and data scientists will build or buy their dream machine, and enjoy constant opportunities to learn and apply new technologies and concepts to our data.

Our light-filled engineering office in Cambridge’s Harvard Square is a highly collaborative environment, and we foster that collaboration through twice-weekly catered lunch and learns, happy hours, hackathons, team outings, and lots of ping pong.
