We all own too much stuff. Specifically, we own too much stuff we don’t need to own. If you could just access the items already in your community — whenever you need them — we could all own less, and do more.
We believe in a future where access beats ownership. A future where everyone in every community can access items from their community when they need them. A future where we aren't burdened with owning items that we'll only use a few times a year. A future where we can have richer experiences with those we love. A future where, well, we can all own less and do more.
We’re building this future.
We’ve started with a network of items available for daily, weekly, and monthly access in San Francisco and Portland, and we’ll be launching in (at least) 5 new markets in 2019. Item owners can list their items for rent on Omni, and renters can find items they need to access and rent them in their own communities. We handle all the messy parts: insurance, support, item guarantees, and more.
Eventually, Omni will exist in every major city in the world. Wherever you are, you’ll be able to open your phone access items exactly when and where you need them.
Communities will be stronger because unused high-quality items are now assets — anyone can make money on the items they don’t use everyday — and anyone will be able to access items they need, and only pay for when they use them.
