We are NFX, a venture fund based in San Francisco’s SOMA/Financial District (close to Montgomery BART). We’re founded by entrepreneurs who started and ran 10 technology companies that exited for over $10 billion. Now we’re building the venture firm we wish existed when we were running startups. A firm that runs like a tech company.
We’ve invested in hundreds of companies including Lyft, Houzz, DoorDash, and Poshmark. We have this grand vision of being a top 10 VC in 10 years, and we’re building what we need to make that happen right now: media, software, finance, operations, and investing.
Team: We’re tight-knit, passionate, and believe in speed in execution and excellent results. We love what we're doing for the start up community and are eager to continue building the team with like-minded, entrepeneurial, original thinking types! We're in growth mode now, and are the kind of people who don't stop until we achieve our goals.
Management: NFX is a partnership between prolific angel investor [https://www.nfx.com/team/gigi-levy-weiss](url) and serial operators [https://www.nfx.com/team/james-currier](url), [https://www.nfx.com/team/pete-flint](url) (Founder/CEO of Trulia) and advisor, [https://www.nfx.com/team/stan-chudnovsky](url) (Head of Facebook Messenger) started out a very specific premise in mind: that with the partners’ help, startup founders could build network effects businesses. (ie. the more users a product has, the better the product becomes for future users.)
We don't run like a typical company. There is no "boss" to report to. There is only the mission, our values, and the confidence in each of us to do the right thing by the community we're helping to build. We're flat, collaborative, and results oriented...and staying that way.
Culture: HQ is in the SOMA area (a few minutes from Montgomery Street BART) in an awesomely designed and secure space. We're bike friendly, dog friendly, we have the star wars soundtrack on loop in shared areas, we have an event space that's regularly used for speakers, panels, happy hours, and meet-ups. Our visitor foot traffic is pretty fascinating. A definite perk to working here!
We don't over-engineer the process, but understanably do vet talent carefully!
