Muck Rack’s Public Relations Management (PRM) platform enables thousands of organizations including Google, Knight Foundation, Pfizer, Golin, Zapier and Duolingo to build trust and tell their stories through earned media. Its media database curates hundreds of millions of data points to help PR teams find journalists, podcasters and content creators, generate coverage, monitor news and prove the value of their work. Journalists use Muck Rack’s free tools to showcase their portfolios, analyze news about any topic and measure the impact of their stories.

Muck Rack started out as a side project from a business we started earlier, the Shorty Awards. In running the awards, we noticed there were many journalists on social media. We quickly put together, over a couple weekends, the first version of Muck Rack, a site that listed journalists and pulled in their tweets. This proved really popular with journalists and we had a lot of requests to be listed. Later, we decided to rebuild the site as a software-as-a-service site for PR people to find journalists and track their PR efforts, and for journalists to set up and maintain professional pro

    About Our Company

Muck Rack is a product of our parent company, Sawhorse Media, which also created the Shorty Awards. The company got its name from its first makeshift desks, which consisted of a wooden door held up by two sawhorses.

    We get stuff done.

Our company is a profitable tech startup that bootstrapped its way to success, with people who know how to get things done. We move fast, are constantly improving our products and ship code multiple times a day. Everyone here is passionate about the problems they are solving and collaborate to make that happen.

    We are a global company

Though our office is in SoHo, New York City, we have people working with us all around the world. From time-to-time we bring them together in person.

    Work on great products

We work on real software products, with actual sales, used by people throughout the world as part of their job.

Flexible work from home and remote work policy

We want you to be working at your best, and wherever suits your working style. This could mean you spend a day or two in the office per week, and the other days wherever you want. We’re also cool with you working while traveling, in addition to off the grid vacations.

    We're really fun

We do weekly get-togethers in our office, in addition to a monthly game night. Our team is regularly planning outings that have included: a private tour of MoMa, coworking at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, seeing the Lego Movie, a hackathon weekend trip to Boston, day on a boat etc. In addition to events for us, we plan events for our users and community, such as Mucked Up. For your birthday and your first day of work, we’ll cater lunch for everyone in-house!
