We build software delivery capabilities, deliver digital & technology, & run live services for ambitious organisations.

We come from a background of helping hungry start-ups get to market fast, so we know how to ship software quickly. We are renowned for our expertise in extreme programming, lean, and agile practices.
Today we’re partnering with some of the UK’s largest organisations, driving the adoption of modern software delivery practices while delivering innovative applications, and untangling legacy IT estates.

Rory and Chris, our founders, met in 2006 whilst working as software engineers. They shared a realisation that most businesses are ill-equipped to effectively deliver software. They launched Made Tech in 2010 as an agile software development company to not only deliver digital products using modern best practice, but also to share that knowledge whilst doing so.


We’re tech agnostic, prioritising the right tech for each situation. Whilst we mostly base our solutions on Ruby on Rails with ReactJS on the frontend, we’re already exploring the latest technologies which are starting to eclipse the undoubted benefits Ruby on Rails has brought over recent years. Our engineers constantly build cases for new bringing in new technologies, recently developing in Elixir for our smaller, start-up customers. From Heroku for NoOps to Azure, AWS, Terraform and Ansible for DevOps, we surround legacy architecture with APIs, eliminating downtime while incrementally decoupling outdated platforms.

We tackle wide-ranging software problems, spanning start-up solutions, public entities and diverse enterprises. We approach everything from a tech perspective and there’s no such things as a ‘regular’ project, providing exposure to a vast array of complex challenges with all of our delivery teams empowered to make the right decisions. We don’t preach agile methodologies to our customers, we truly live and breathe a continuous improvement approach, specific to each customer.

We see the importance and value in self-improvement, with regular code dojos, show and tells, fortnightly company-wide retrospectives, peer reviews and other reflective practices to help encourage sharing as well as our weekly Friday PM Learn Tech session, training everything from in-depth TDD to Modern JS app development. Career Progression

Our company is growing rapidly and we are looking for Junior Leads to grow into Lead positions as well as Lead roles to work on exciting projects. We expect 50% growth in the next 12 months and a further 50% in 2020.
We believe in rapid progression and support your ongoing learning. Take our Director, Luke, for example who joined in 2013 as an Engineer showing huge promise and progressing rapidly through the business. Or Richard, who has built his skills and confidence since joining as an Engineer and now holds a Lead customer-facing role. Then there's Craig who joined as Software Engineer in 2016, stepping up to Lead Engineer in less than 18 months and who is now running our Academy programme which gives bright and self taught, but commercially inexperienced, developers access to a career in Software Development

  2. F2F with Director, plus 30 min pairing session with Lead Engineer
