Why work @ Lickd?

Lickd is an innovative start-up disrupting the music industry and the influencer sector. Our team is small but will grow 250% in 2019 as we scale up our operations. We are a close knit team who are open, honest and agile and welcome those who want to work hard to make change, that love music and want to be part of something hugely exciting.

As of Feb 1st 2019, we will be based out of our own, Soho based office with great transport links as well as a podcast studio, free beer Fridays and Table Tennis.

Lickd started life in November 2016 with a mission to change music licensing for online video creators.

Our first product was launched in October 2017 enabling YouTubers to license commercial music from record labels and ensure they aren't subject to copyright claims when they upload their video to YouTube. Since then we've grown our catalogue to thousands of tracks and have been pressing on with signing bigger and better record labels to get those household names whilst raising our Series A.

We have closed unprecedented deals with big record labels and publishers and hope to be making announcements about Major Labels in the not too distant future. Moreover, whilst Lickd is currently a solution for YouTube Creators, it will soon expand in to Facebook and Instagram Creators also.

In 2018 we were selected as one of only 3 companies to be part of the Abbey Road ‘Red’ Incubator, part of Universal Music Group and were also selected by the Department of Trade and Industry as one of 15 UK Music Start-Ups ‘Making Waves Globally’.

What is Lickd?
Lickd is a digital platform helping YouTube content creators legally use the music they love. We provide commercial music from real labels for licensing in to YouTube videos without the fear of a Creator losing their ad revenue to a Copyright Claims. Our VOUCH software ensures that, if you license a song from Lickd, you will NOT get a claim on your content and can publish video with peace of mind.

Why does Lickd exist?
The powers that be in online broadcasting and the music industry have had a real problem on their hands: there is still no solution to how user-generated content online uses music aside from the current culture of piracy and counter-claim. As more and more platforms begin to use video - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat - this problem is about to grow exponentially. Lickd is the solution to this problem.

We’ve come up with the solution:
Lickd allows creators of professional and semi-professional online content to legally license commercial music whilst also paying the music industry fairly for that right. The solution has been staring us in the face all along: build a professional relationship between online creators and the music industry directly.
