Kleiner Perkins, the VC firm behind the biggest companies in Silicon Valley including Google and Amazon, is looking for an Engineer in Residence to join its internal engineering team.

The Engineer in Residence role will expose you to the VC perspective of Silicon Valley and is best suited for Senior Software Engineers who plan to go on to build their own company or for those looking to join one of our fast-growing portfolio companies.

You’ll join a small team of engineers working on internal tools to support investment operations. We build web-based tools using React on Flask and data analysis pipelines using Pandas. You’d primarily be responsible for building out internal products and infrastructure, but will also have the opportunity to engage with our investment team to offer technical diligence on deals.

Responsibilities:

Building out internal products using React, Flask and other tools
Building and supporting infrastructure on AWS
Architecting and implementing new features
Reviewing pull requests of fellow engineers
Supporting the investment team on technical diligence of new opportunities

Requirements:

5+ years software engineering experience in a startup environment
Strong full-stack / generalist engineering skills
Focused / entrepreneurial / ruthless prioritizer
First-principle thinker
