Our Culture

Hubdoc ( A Xero Product) offers industry leading business document automation to accountants, bookkeepers, and the small businesses that power the global economy. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, leading innovation, and our commitment to a paperless world. Our team is based in Toronto, Canada and we have a second office in Sydney, Australia. We were acquired by Xero in August 2018, and were previously funded by some of Canada’s top venture capital firms. We always want to be surrounded by coworkers who make us better.

Our Tech Stack

Our Cloud Accounting Software is a large ecosystem of various products and the Xero Platform is constantly evolving. We’ve been Windows focused, but we are moving to a serverless future, fueled by React.js, .Net core, Docker and AWS. We’re always looking at what’s coming next and embrace new technologies where they make sense for us.
The Hubdoc platform is hosted primarily on AWS, and we use a combination of PostgreSQL, Cassandra, RabbitMQ, and Elasticsearch. We provision our servers with Ansible, and use Terraform to help manage our infrastructure. Our document fetching infrastructure relies heavily on Electron and is supported by Node.js. Our machine-learning stack uses TensorFlow, Keras, and Python.
