Given a photo, consumers want answers to questions like “What is this product? Where can I buy it?”, “Show me where/how people are using this product”, “Who in the world is posting about this product?” GrokStyle provides these answers using innovations in deep learning technology, developed by co-founders Dr. Sean Bell (CEO) and Prof. Kavita Bala (Chief Scientist).
GrokStyle provides new capabilities to consumers and retailers to assist in matching a consumer’s desired product with the correct or closest matching product based on visual similarity, given a photograph on the web, or taken on their cell phone.
Our visual search techniques can be applied broadly to domains like interior design where customers are looking for specific products or stylistically matching sets; apparel search where fashion savvy users are looking for matching outfits; and real estate search, etc. The company’s current focus is on interior product design. GrokStyle uses deep learning technology to learn about visual matches and similarities among products by training on millions of images of products in scenes.

GrokStyle recently was named one of the 100 most promising private AI companies globally by CB Insights (one of 6 vision companies), earlier won a startup competition in NYC (http://www.ldv.co/blog/2016/5/30/grokstyle-wins-ldv-vision-summit-2016), and has signed the framework for a worldwide deal with a major retailer.
