We know there are a lot of solar companies around, and it is not surprising given the growth of the industry and the incredible value that solar energy provides homeowners. At Green Street Solar Power, we think the true value of solar is as dependent upon the expertise and integrity of the providers as it is upon the technology.
We have been in business for a bit over a year and have no one to blame for our success but our skilled and dedicated staff. Our owners came from a long history of business in the solar industry, and throughout their careers they have learned about success and failure and what causes either. GSSP started small and humble; merely 5 employees in a large open basement, and has grown to a staff of over 55. We currently serve communities in the 5 boroughs, Long Island, Hudson Valley, NJ, MA, and CT. With experience in Commercial, Residential, and Community solar, our business is always expanding and growing. This would not be possible without our family of humble and hard working employees.
With our company culture and community being at the top of our priority list, our interviewing and hiring process is very important to us. It begins with a casual conversation. We take the time to get to know our candidates as well as ensure they fully know who we are. Transparency and honesty are very important during this step; for both parties. Should we decide to move forward, we will request the interviewee visit our office to meet with our team. Our schedule for these in-person interviews are very flexible as far as timing goes. Typically, the General Manager would have a one-on-one conversation with this potential employee and get to know them a bit more. Should the interview go well, we typically bring in other employees to meet the candidate at the same time. We do not hire someone unless it is a collaborate decision. We like our potential hires to meet as much of the team as possible, as collaboration is a large part of how we operate. GSSP staff would then collaborate as a group after the interviews, and make an offer to the correct fit.
