WHO WE ARE
France Hostels is setting up the first French integrated hostel chain. We are currently a team of five travel enthusiasts who have a strong background in all aspects of operations and development of youth hostels and bars - 25 years between us five- acquired within one of the top three actors of the hostel market. We are looking for the sixth member of the team to help out build an awesome platform and especially translate into a tech language the ideas the France Hostels will come up with.
We just finished a second round of financing in order to develop what we consider one of the top key success factors in our venture.

WHAT WE DO
We want to disrupt the market with a technology that makes life easier for customers and staff. Nowadays, 50% of a receptionist's time is spent looking at a screen or typing the same info all over again. In the meantime, our guests have to wait when they could be exploring the city!

We aim to imagine a whole architecture which will build a relationship between customers, staff and a stock (that can be beds, beer or tickets to visit the Palace of Versailles). We want to improve check-in, from the moment a guest books a bed from his place of residence and chooses their bed to the instant they enter the property knowing what room they're in and which bed is theirs. Our goal is to make their travel as smooth as possible a bit like in the commercial airlines system. When they make a stop at reception it will be to ask for information that is really useful to them.

WHAT FOR
We want to place human relations at the center of France Hostels; less admin and more talking.
At the bar for instance, we would like to make our app available as an ordering system which will allow customers to stay at their table, order, pay and not interrupt their conversation with their newly met friends. In that setting, orders will then arrive at the open kitchen and a huge board could indicate the status of every customer's order ("in preparation", "Food is ready, Gustave is waiting for you to pick it up!"). The idea is for guests to be able to rate the food and Gustave's service afterwards with the app which can therefore allow us to create bonus schemes for staff. Happy customers and happy employees.
And then there are tons of small things. An example? No hostel group offers guests the possiblity to choose between the bottom or top bunk. We want to fix that.
