Flourish is a next-generation platform for data visualisation and storytelling. It brings the power, flexibility and beauty of D3 and WebGL to anyone with a spreadsheet or database. Developers can create visualisation templates and upload them to Flourish using our SDK. Non-coders can easily use these templates with their own data and text to create high-end interactive graphics and stories.

    Past

Flourish grows out of Kiln, the multi-award-winning data visualisation studio co-founded by data journalist Duncan Clark and developer and mathematician Robin Houston. Kiln's bespoke projects for clients such as the Guardian, Google, the World Health Organisation and LSE won prizes at the Data Journalism Awards and the Information Is Beautiful Awards, among others.

    Present

Flourish is a small talented team combining decades of collective experience in development, data, visualisation and journalism/publishing. Our beautiful office in central London is a exciting place to work, with a fun and collaborative feel and excellent lunches on neighbouring Leather Lane. The product is currently in private alpha, with thousands of people on the waiting list for access. It won the 2017 Startups for News prize from the Global Editors Network, and has existing and prospective clients way beyond the media sector.

    Future

We have huge ambitions for Flourish. Hundreds of millions of people work with data in spreadsheets and databases, but few of them have the capacity to create high quality visualisations and presentations. We see Flourish becoming a standard tool used across all sectors from publishing and consultancy through to analytics, logistics, events and more.
