FareHarbor is built by a small team of engineers in the Mission district of San Francisco. We’re a product-centric, technically talented team that values autonomy and ownership over bureaucracy and administrivia. Our work environment is casual, our code well tested, and our product best in class.
The team here plays a tremendous role in determining the direction of the product and therefore FareHarbor as a whole. You will have the opportunity to have an enormous impact on a rapidly growing, successful company and therefore we depend on you to be passionate, intelligent, and awesome.
Finally, we work in the activities and tourism industry! So we make sure to keep our priorities straight: if the waves are good, if there's a storm in the mountains, if the sun is shining... Let's take advantage of it!
Our process is simple: we start with a casual video chat with someone on our team. We'll discuss your experience and expectations and what it's like to work at FareHarbor along with some light technical fare. Assuming that goes smoothly we arrange a more technical conversation oriented around you taking us through some code, a project, or a problem you found interesting and discussing how you approached it. The goal here is to get a feeling for the kinds of problems you've run into in your technical career and an appreciation for your approach to problem solving as well a sense for where your experience might find its best fit in our team
Finally we ask you into the office to meet the members of the team you'd be working with. We'll dig deeper into your technical skillset and try to give you a sense of what a day at FareHarbor is like. We'll talk code, systems design, testability, and anything else you're good at. After that (hopefully) we make a formal offer that you accept!
