How we Interview & Hire Engineers

At Evite we strive to ensure the candidate will be rewarded with technical growth and a great career while having fun along the way. To that extent we're looking not only for technical passion and skills, but also for the qualities that demonstrate you would work well within a team environment as thats a very important part of Evite's culture.

Our interview process starts with an hour-long phone screen with a portion for technical questions and background conversation and then a portion set aside for live coding. For the live coding exercise we use coderpad.io.

If that goes well, we'll bring you in for an onsite interview with various members of our engineering team at our West Hollywood office and you'll have lunch with us. This part of the interview process will evaluate various facets of your technical skills and background, giving you ample time to ask questions about Evite as well. As we know the job seeking process can be very arduous, if the onsite interview process went well we typically make a formal offer very quickly.

Our culture

Our engineering culture at Evite is one of continual improvement. We aim to use the latest relevant technologies and since we're a fairly small engineering organization, we have great flexibility and latitude as to what engineering technologies and processes we use. Important to our organization is career growth by enabling engineers to grow outside of their core areas of expertise by participating in other engineering efforts they are interested in.

Although we're a very fast-moving organization, we definitely apply engineering rigor and discipline through Agile (SCRUM) processes, continuous integration, automated testing, code-reviews, etc. Our belief is that speed doesn't have to come at the expense of quality, in fact a high-performance engineering organization should have both and we welcome ideas from all team members to improve.

We also believe in a high degree of collaboration, not only within the engineering organization but outside with our product and various business teams to ensure we build a great product. Plus, it just makes it even more fun to work here!
